Wren & WhistleExcelsior Springs

One shop, one name, and a charm in every bag.

A gift shop on the Excelsior Springs strip. Small, particular about what comes in the door, and open the days it says it is open.

A silver charm bracelet coiled on a linen cloth beside a small open tin of loose charms and a pair of scissors.

Everyone leaves with a charm.

Every purchase, every time, no minimum and nothing to sign up for. Pick it out of the tray at the register on the way out.

People come back with the bracelet to show what they have collected. That is the entire marketing plan and it has worked since 2023.

Always free, always yours to choose
A shop window seen from inside, morning light across a table of pale vases, stacked boxes and folded linens.
A glass jewelry case under a hanging lamp, earrings and stacking rings laid out on linen pads.
A wooden shelf of poured candles in glass jars with plain labels, lids stacked beside them.
A rail of cardigans and cotton tops on wooden hangers, photographed down the length of the rack.
A small town sidewalk in late afternoon, brick storefronts with awnings, potted flowers and a bench outside an open door.

Five photographs, and the shop changes enough that they should be reshot every spring.

What is in the shop

  • Jewelry, earrings, stacking rings, a case of vintage brooches
  • Women's apparel, tops, cardigans, a small rack of dresses
  • Gourmet food, jams, dip mixes, local honey, coffee
  • Candles, poured in Missouri, sold by scent not by brand
  • Baby and toddler, gifts that survive a shower
  • Cards and paper, the good kind, not the drugstore rack

If you are driving over from out of town, call first and I will tell you what came in this week.
